Unreal Engine 5.0【UE5】- Blurgha Attack
https://www.youtube.com/watc...Blurgha Attack!
With the increase in accessibility of technology and assets for the masses, making a full fledged production alone is more doable than ever, and it is super exciting for me, as I've always been interested in pursuing Visual Direction in Games.
In this project, I wanted to try to see how Technical Animation in Unreal Engine 5.0 can help make the life of animators easier. I explored using Physical Animation inside of the engine to handle Overlapping Action for the monster's whiskers and tail, along with Inverse Kinematics to plant the limbs of the beast on the ground, no matter the terrain.
There was also flexibility in this approach, in that I could use Weights to control the ratio between simulation and manual animation. In this manner, agency isn't stripped away from the animator, rather, even more power is given to them.
