I've been developing Farewell North for over 2 years now, and the game has come such a long way, but I've realised that in order to reach the full potential of the game, I could use a little bit of help. So after working together the last few months, I'm so thrilled to finally share that I've partnered with @Mooneye Studios, the developers of Lost Ember, to help make Farewell North the best game it can be!
Together with Mooneye's help we've been redoing all of the games animations and improving the camera system, the two biggest pieces of feedback from Steams Next Fest. Beyond these much needed improvements, I've also been working on enhancements like volumetric lighting, cave decorations (and just more props in general), and a big performance improvement with the way Unity URP handles the camera volume stack.
I've still got a ways to go to finish Farewell North, but the demo is coming back in August so be on the lookout for that! I hope you enjoy this devlog and I can't wait to share more of the game with you next time.
