A Snoot’s Adventure aims to be an original, fresh 3D platformer experience, and focus on innovation of this classic genre. The game can be played both fast-paced and casually, technically, and played casually. The open-world approach to its level design is complemented by snoots high-speed movements, meaning that larger maps, can be navigated as swiftly as smaller N64 classics, yet promotes exploration. The player should be able to pick a destination, then challenge themselves to get there, this less guided method to me is the true freedom a 3D platformer should have. So this ideal has heavily affected my design. In addition to this, for me, a 2D platformer is the most satisfying, when it is a matter of seamless reaction, as opposed to stopping start planning. A diversity of manageability must be offered, such that the player can react appropriately and skilfully to a situation, but simple enough to learn and then master. A snoots adventure is a momentum focussed platformer, the player uses the fluidity of the snoots move set to channel and build momentum, in turn, teams with quick reaction gameplay that promises to have you on the edge of your seat, focused, at times a little frustrated, but overall gripped and determined to play more and pass these challenges.
Snoot too is story drive, though I will not be giving too much away just yet.
